Yikes! I haven't posted in a week! Sorry y'all! DOS has been super busy. Mainly roaming around the city with The Hubster. I think I've gone out right after work almost every day this week. Goodness. I haven't had any time to upload photos and think of something witty to say. I still don't have anything witty to say but at least I got to uploading these photos. =)
I was kind of nervous to do this shoot only because this park was a block away from the office. Gawd, if anyone from the office saw me, they would definitely be whispering about how weird I am. They already think I'm weird by the countless times they have caught me lip syncing to slow jams at my desk. I try to separate my work life from my blog life only because not very many senior tax analysts go around town having their husbands take photos of them after work. I just don't think they will understand it that easily nor do I really want to explain it. Who's got the time for all that?! By the way, at work, I wore pants under this shirt dress. Gotta keep things profesh n'am sayin'?
This particular night was super funsies! Mostly because I got to meet Lisa Frame. She is the genius behind #soyeahduh. This tumblr account will have you dying of laughter, especially if you live in Chicago. I start pretty much every work morning on her tumblr. It sets the tone for my day and instantly puts me in a better mood. It's mostly me at my desk trying to laugh quietly. You know where you sit there with your entire face in laugh mode but no sound comes out and you are just letting out rapid bursts of air. I also add light fist pounds on my desk when shit gets REALLY funny.
Anyway, Lisa hosted a party at a local boutique, Edith Hart, and I just had to go and meet her. She's 100x funnier in person. She is quick with the witty comments and I LOVES IT! I was so nervous to meet her just because I find her extremely cool. So thank you Edith Hart for providing mucho drinks so I could find the balls to say hello. Actually I think it came out like this. "OKAY! I'm going to say HI to you NOW!" and held out my hand. Yikes, I have zero grace or poise. She asked me if I bought anything and I told her I got pretty much all they had in my size, which wasn't very much. She responded by saying "Oh, cuz you have that skinny asian betch thing going on." I fell in love with her more. LOL. I had a great time, thank you. ( little shout out to LC for joining me <3 )

And OH EM GEEEEE, Edith Hart might just have become my new favorite store. No, they didn't have very much in my size, but I loved practically everything they had in the store. Very much my style. Even though I couldn't get everything due to size limitations, I still got enough to make a dent in my wallet. I'm actually REALLY REALLY glad they didn't have my size in most of their stuff or else I would have been in major trouble. I remember turning to The Hubster after perusing the first rack and saying "Aw crap. I'm screwed." I usually say that when I love 75% of the items on one rack. I can't wait to show you guys the pieces I got! Be excited! No, really. BE EXCITED! They have some amazing stuff on their sale racks too! Goodness, there was this coat in a size Medium that was only $50! It was amazing! Beige but with a pink lining. Drooooool! It was pretty thick and would have been perfect for the upcoming fall weather. It totally didn't fit me, but I did make another girl buy it. I told her I would find her and smack her if she didn't walk away with that coat. And did I mention how sweet all the ladies at Edith Hart are? No? Well I'll say it now. They are all suuuuper sweet and all suuuuuper fly. They were all very helpful and didn't make me feel like a betch at all for hogging the dressing room. Hehehehe... Thanks ladies! I had such a fun time at the store. Any time I can shop with a drink in my hand, it's gunna be a goooooooooood time.

Oh, so I should probably talk a little about this outfit huh? 'Kay. Well, I called this post "in with the old" because the belt is vintage and the dress is old. =) Gee wiz, I am clever! The belt was a purchase from Threadflip, an awesome blossom site that is like ebay and pinterest rolled into one but just for fashion. Thanks to whoever was selling this belt! I love it. It's a little big so I have to tuck in the straps in a weird way, but it works. It also makes the belt asymmetrical which I'm pretty sure I like, I guess. Oh well. Gotta make do with what you got. The dress is also old. Not vintage but old as in I've had it for about 2 years. And they way I shop, I consider something 6 months old as old. So I guess I WILL call this dress "vintage". Hehehe... It's definitely a favorite of mine. Easy to wear, and I don't have to think that much about styling it up. Just add belt and sick pumps (like these YSL babies) and I am good to go.

And if you are saying to yourself, "omg her hair looks so fabulous and flowy" (it's okay, you can say it to yourself, no one will know), it's because I used Moroccan Oil. If you pay any attention to what I write on this blog, you'll know I don't like doing my hair. Mainly because I have thick coarse hair. No, I do not have that pretty flowy and silky asian hair. My hair dries kind of frizzy and I always have to run a flat iron through it. I started using Moroccan Oil just to try since LC recommended it. After the first two times, I definitely noticed a softness and sheen to my hair. WOOT! I couldn't stop running my fingers through it all day. And also walking and swishing my head side to side like Beyonce in the intro of Crazy in Love. So if you have coarse, unruly hair like me, give Moroccan Oil a try. I officially stamp it with the DOS seal of approval. I say that like it means something, but it probably doesn't. Wow, I wrote a lot. Hope you all read it! <3<3
