DETECTIVE DOS

Happy Friday everyone!  Finally!  An outfit post!  LOL!  Sorry, I'm just excited to share this one with you all.  This is me looking a little like an old school detective.  Maybe mainly because of the hat.  But like a fashionable one, with killer shoes.  It was actually a pretty bad day to wear a hat because it was pretty windy so that was fail on my part.  Oh well.  You can't tell that from the pictures so HA!  I'm still a little under the weather.  My cough is now coupled with the sniffles so I am just trying to get through the day.  However, aside from the minor cold, this week has been kind of awesome.  Since I'm pretty much an open book, I'll tell all my readers that I got a new job and will be starting towards the end of April.  It's still in the same field (I am a tax nerd) but it's a step up from my current position so I'm pretty excited.  =)  It was definitely bittersweet to turn in my notice to my manager.  I absolutely love my manager at my current job.  We have a very interesting relationship and I feel like she's just like one of my friends.  That can sometimes be a really hard thing to find in the corporate world.  I'm definitely going to miss everyone I worked with.  But you always have to move forward and let new opportunities challenge you and try not to get too comfortable in your current situation.  Challenge yourself to be better and always tell yourself that you deserve better.  This will propel you forward in anything you do.  So that's kind of what has been taking over my time the past week or so and I'm happy to share the news to my loyal readers.  <3  I guess I put together this outfit because I was feeling pretty bad ass this week.  Nothing like a promotion to get you feeling confident and bad ass.  And when I'm feeling bad ass, I find myself dressing edgy and in dark colors with metal and leather.  Hahahahaha...  Let me know what you think of the look!  =)  Have a great weekend everyone!

By the way, this store I am in front of, Hydrology, is an amazing store where you can find cool faucets and tubs and anything related to water hardware for your home.  I got my faucets for my kitchen and my bathrooms here.  That was a fun shopping day for sure!  Thanks for visiting and reading my loves!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Sorry for the lateness, AGAIN.  Eeeks!  I've got to be the worst blogger ever.  This week has been incredibly hectic but in a good way.  I am going through some changes in my work life and things have been happening fairly quickly so I thank you all for still checking in on the blog.  I promise a great outfit post for ya'll near the end of the week!  =)  So with the coming of warm weather and sunny days, all I think about is color and flowy textures.  I saw this skirt and immediately fell in love with the pleating and the vibrant colors and lines.  The texture looks so flowy and I can only imagine how great it would look as you walked around with a light summer breeze.  The same goes for the bright yellow tank.  Just so airy and pretty.  Works perfectly to compliment the skirt.  The YSL Shoes are a GREAT addition to any shoe collection.  The heel is actually on the chunkier side so it would probably be easier to walk in than stilettos.  And the ankle strap, which is removable, also adds more stability.  And I just could NOT resist incorporating this Alexander McQueen black leather studded bag.  With everything so soft and breezy, a zing of hard edge makes the whole outfit interesting.  And you can never go wrong with studs.  =)  The YSL ring has colors that tie all the other pieces together so it completes the look as a welcomed accessory.  The scarf is for if it gets just a little chilly throughout the day, which is always a possibility here in Chicago.  Always keep a scarf or cardigan handy because you never know where the day will lead you.  What do you think of the look?

Hey y'all!  Sorry for the lack of posts these past few days.  I've been busy handling stuff in other aspects of my life that I have had no time for shoots or updates.  I have also fell victim to a pretty bad cough and am just not feeling 100%.  So again, sorry for the lack of posting and outfit posts.  But I did have time to take some instagram shots!  So for your viewing pleasure, here are some shots of pieces of my days.  If you already follow me on Instagram or follow the Facebook fan page, some of these might be old news to you.  LoL.  Sorries!  Either way, I hope you all enjoy.  I'll vamp up the posting sometime soon so please keep checking in!  =)

Oh man it's starting to feel like summer in Chicago!  We've had some 80 degree days already and it's only March.  That is cray cray!  But with summer comes flowy dresses and summery shades.  I am loving this color block poncho and I love adding a hot belt to any flowy shapeless dress like this.  And what better than one with a bull's head on it?!  I am obsessed with this amazing Balmain belt!  Gold bull's head, rivets, buckles... oh mah gah!  What's not to love!?!?  Pair it with a pop of white with this Alexander Wang bag and you will definitely be styling this summer.  I have also been perusing for a gold watch since mine has been out of commission and I've been using my rose gold Michael Kors for a while.  I definitely need a regular gold one.  Although there is nothing regular about this awesome oversized and chronograph Philip Stein.  I think oversized watches are super fun and the chronograph just adds that bit of detail that attracts your eye to the face of the watch.  And no outfit is complete without a little red sole.  These Christian Louboutin Duvette pumps are super hot with the gold toe.  I think pointed toe pumps are making a comeback!  The Tom Ford sunnies are great for the summer with it's brown tones and aviator shape.  And lastly, the evil eye ring will hopefully ward off the evils of freezing cold temperatures coming back to Chicago for the season.  We all know, in Chicago, it could be 80 degrees one day and 10 below the next.  Hahahaha...  I sure hope the warm weather is here to stay.  Let's just pray it doesn't turn into a scorcher overnight.  Sorry about the lack of outfit posts this week.  It's been busy at the office and I've got work and projects piling up again.  And also I've been cheating on fashion with home projects.  I don't know about you guys but I definitely get into these modes where all I think about is stuff to decorate my house.  The poor hubster has to take shifts between taking photos and helping me put up shelves.  Hehehehe...  I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and I hope you enjoy the look I have put together!  xoxoxo!

Look at me!  I'm floating in the sky!  Okay that was lame.  LoL.  The Hubster and I decided to do a quick shoot up on our roof before stepping out of the house.  We didn't feel like bringing around the camera.  But it was epic fail anyway because 10 minutes in, the battery died.  I am the WORST at keeping things charged.  Oh well.  Sorry for the lack of interesting shots.  This was all we could get before the camera shut down.  I wanted to show you guys my new hat that I got on super sale from Aritzia.  I'm not a huge hat person in any way but sometimes I like to have one handy in case my hair is not cooperating.  I don't see very many people rocking hats in Chicago so I wouldn't say that it's a good way to stay hidden.  I feel like people actually will look at you if you have a hat on that isn't a baseball hat.  This day was super duper warm but overcast around the time we took the photos.  Kept the outfit very monochromatic here but still dramatic with the black and white.  And of course the shoes!  Do you like the shoes?  It was on a previous Wednesday Wishlist.  I couldn't resist when my size became available, so as usual, I grit my teeth and pulled the trigger.  These are awesome because they are super comfortable for as high as they are.  And I love the color.  It's one of those off colors that can go with a lot.  It's not 100% grey, nor 100% taupe.  It's some funky combo.  And I love me funky combos.  The top is by Joie and purchased from City Blue.  <3  Like I mentioned in a previous post, they just launched their new online store.  However, if you live in Chicago, I highly HIGHLY recommend stopping by the store front.  The ladies that work there are oober sweet and fun.  I immediately loved this Joie top because of the fun yet understated stripes.  It's sheer to add some sexy illusion combined with the stripes.  Do you see my skin... do you not see my skin... do you see my skin... do you not see my skin...?  Hmmm... tricky.  I guess you won't know until you get one for yourself.  =)

Happy Friday my darlings!!  And a special HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY JANE MEOWS!!!  I can't wait for your birthday dinner tonight!  Woot!  I love seeing my ladies and celebrating fun birthdays.  Jane, I hope you have a fab day and you get off work early and get lots o' presents and lots o' love on your special day!  Love ya times a million zillion!  I even love you more than I love these neon yellow pumps!  Hahahaha... You like that transition in subject?  Oh yeaaaaa.. I'm good like that.  So this day I am pretty much feeling like one giant glow stick.  I'm not sure how many times I mentioned that I LOVE neons right now, but I'm going to say it again.  I LOVE NEONS RIGHT NOW!  I had posted on the DOS Facebook Page and on Twitter and asked if I should get neon yellow or neon pink.  Neon yellow won so thanks to those that responded.  Especially Eskee who pays attention and knows I have a lot of pink stuff already.  Thanks love!  My new blogger friend LC has a pair of sick Louboutin Pigalle's in neon yellow.  I tried to find them in my size but it was epic fail.  Luckily I stumbled on these Aldo ones.  WOOT!  A fraction of the cost but with just as much punch.  Even though the shapes are different and duh these don't have that awesome red sole... sigh.  Oh well, it pairs so nicely with my citron colored blouse and my neon spiked cuff right?  Oh and yea.. the Balenciaga.  Let's not forget that nice neon pink nugget.  Best part of doing this shoot.. as we were crossing the street, a girl rolls down her car window while at a red light and shouts "Girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl.. I loooooooooooooove them shoes!"  <3<3<3  Totes made my day.  Thank you who ever u are!
