And I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaack.. wsup wsup wsuuuuuuup!  I had an amaaaajjjing time in Dallas and am having a hard time adjusting back to normal life.  Why can't I just be a professional traveler?  I'd be so good at it!  A big thanks to Snuggie for showing us around Dallas and being my chauffeur when The Hubster was at his business meetings.  Sorry I dragged you to all the crazy stores.  But hey, I taught you some DSLR basics so it's an even trade.  The Hubster and I fell so in love with Dallas.  But it could have been because of the sunny weather and the oooober amazing treatment we received at Hotel ZaZa.  The staff there really know how to make you feel like a VIP.  Little do they know.. I'm just a P.  Shout out to my girl Chelsea for taking care of me all weekend.  You are a friggin' rockstar badass and I love you to death!  See you at Lolla?!?!  I am still reeling from all the amazing memories and meeting so many insanely amazing people.  Shout out to my UK peepz and one very bad ass guy reppin' Amsterdam.  You all are a flippin' blast!

This was day one in Dallas right outside Snuggie's place.  He sure got an inside look to how oober glamorous my photo shoots are.  Hell yea, I worked this parking lot like a runway y'all.  LOL.  It was actually super awkward with him watching.  I had to tell him to go away.  I've known him for over 13 years and I'm sure he was standing there rolling his eyes.  Whatever.  I had to shoot my new favorite jacket.  I made The Hubster buy a varsity jacket for himself months ago and ever since I've been wanting my own.  I've seen a few here and there and most were way over my price range for something I wasn't exactly sure I could pull off.  Thank the heavens for Top Shop.  They released a set of cute ass varsity jackets for women and I had to get my hands on one.  I absolutely love this color scheme since to me it really screams varsity team high school.  It's actually the colors of my own high school so it's also nostalgic.  The shape is so perfect for what I wanted and it has become my new favorite item to throw on.  I feel instantly cool and it turns any frumpy day into a somewhat hip look. Then again, it could all be in my head but who currrs.

Okay no, not really but I like to think I play an important role.  Hahaha... This past Saturday, I was the wedding coordinator for a very special couple, Jeannie and Mike.  I had such a blast working with these two and I'd like to think I made some new friends.  Their wedding was absolutely beautiful and I got to work with some amazing vendors.  These shots were taken by Kenny Kim, a very talented and amazing photographer.  I'm almost never in any photos except for a random limb like my hand or elbow or foot, so I felt very special.  Thanks Kenny!  Please check out Kenny's website for the photos from the wedding and a whole mess of other amazing weddings he has done!  Oh and his Instagram is also pretty flippin' sweet!  All links can be found below.

Kenny told me I looked intimidating.

Which made me laugh.

So I decided to smile.

Then act silly.

INTO THE WILD

Hey everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  It was another eventful weekend for me.  My awesome brother in law got married on Friday!  He was probably one of the happiest grooms I have ever seen.  He was a ball of nerves right before the ceremony but as soon as the she walked through the doors he was all smiles and beaming of happiness.  Totes adorbs!  I am so happy for them.  His new wifey is sweet as sugar.  I already know they will have an amazing marriage.  These photos were taken right after the ceremony behind the church.  There was about a two hour break between the ceremony and the reception so Papa DOS and I kept ourselves busy with some shots.  Hahaha.  I'm pretty sure the guests that were driving away thought we were super weird and that this "sister in law" is super narcissistic.  Goodness, I will never get used to the awkward-ness.

I know some people have already seen this dress on me through my posts from the wedding on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, so this might be a little redundant.  But I'm pretty sure some of you are wondering where the dress is from.  This dress kind of has a little story behind it and how it ultimately landed itself in my overstuffed wardrobe.

We were having dinner with my in laws last week and my mother in law asked me if I bought a long dress for the wedding.  I told her I had no plans of purchasing a new dress because I already have so many dresses to choose from.  I got confused and thought this meant she wanted me to wear a long dress.  Apparently that was not what she meant at all but that's what I understood.  Hahaha...  So one day I was riding my bike down Halsted and I see this particular dress in the window of a new store in Lincoln Park.  I immediately hit the brakes and stared at it.  It was a long dress and I thought, "Perfect for the wedding!"  The print was definitely calling out to me.  So I tied up my bike and walked in.  The nicest guy helped me take the dress off the mannequin so I could try it on (Hi George!).  It was love at first wear.  The underlining skirt portion is shorter than the outer lining and creates that effect of being able to see some of your legs through the sheer outer lining.  And when I realized it also had a side slit, it was a done deal.  I'm so glad I got this dress because I got a ton of compliments on it, especially from my in laws.  Hahahaha... I aim to please.

If you are in the Chicago area and are interested in this dress, please go and see George at CT212 on Halsted.  CT212 is a new boutique opened by one of my favorite designers, Calvin Tran.  This boutique differs from his Calvin Tran boutique a few blocks away in that it carries different designers as well.  The prices are reasonable and the pieces are fun.  This particular dress was under $100!  Woot!  And please say hi to George.  He works Saturday - Wednesday and he will take great care of you.  =)  Don't you love finding hidden treasures in your neighborhood?  Please share some of the hidden treasures in your area.  I'm always looking for new places to check out.

FYI, this is another attempt at a sockless bun.  I don't have hair that is long enough to hide the sock so I have to create this look without one.  I think I'm getting better considering I had to do my hair AND make up at 6am before heading into the office.  Yes, I worked before going to the ceremony.  Tis' the life of a tax gal.  I'm sure I was completely over dressed at work that day.

BIG PINK STRIPES

Hi again!  I've been waiting for the right light to get photos of my awesome new pants!  A few weeks ago, I got an email from Motel Rocks telling me that they would like to send me an item from their collection and I was totally ecstatic!!  Little did I know how hard it would be to pick out an item from all their amazing stuff.  But then I saw them.  A pair of super fun and super fab pink and white striped pants!  I fell in love instantly.  The big bold stripes just screamed for me to make them mine.  A week or so later, there they were at my doorstep.  And by doorstep, I mean the area underneath our condo mailboxes in the hallway.  They were a bit loose so I had to get them taken in which also took some time and they are also long.  But I'm used to all that being only 5 feet tall.  The waiting was worth it though because now they fit great and it's been kind of rainy and poopy lately so I probably would not have worth them for a while anyway.  I didn't get them hemmed shorter because sometimes I like the option of folding them up into a cuff, so it was the good ol' tuck and fold under this time around.  If you are more of a normal size and not travel size like me, I'm sure they would fit you just fine!  I'm so glad the Hubster and I could finally get around to shooting on a day there was some good sunlight coming in so I could share these pants with all you lovely people.  The material is not denim and is super soft.  I am wondering if these could be okay in the office.  Hey man, they are not jeans!  LOL.  I think it might be too soon for these in the corporate setting.  Thanks again to Motel Rocks for these amazing pants!  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them!  Everyone, please visit their site and peruse around.  They have lots of interesting and fun designs.  I know I've got my eye on a few more items.  =)

Also what do you think of my new hat?  I've never really been a hat person, but I have come to realize they sure are handy when your hair is just not cooperating.  Just be careful to check the wind speed.  I've definitely had to chase my hat down the street before.  Chicago is not called the "windy" city just for funsies.  I like the open holes on this hat.  It adds an interesting texture and design and is perfect for when it's a hot summer day and you need some air to get through to your dome.

TWO TONED, T-STRAPS, AND NEON CORAL

Greetings everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  My little wish came true and the temps dipped a little so that I could wear my new trench.  I love the interesting design with the two different colors and layers.  The material is so soft and just drapes down effortlessly.  It's super comfortable and adds just the little bit of warmth when the weather is only a tad chilly.  Too bad it was also rainy and gloomy.  =P I went to go visit my fam bam this weekend and got to eat Olive Garden.  Woot!  I love their soup, salad, and breadsticks meal.  Zuppa Toscana for the win!  I rarely hit the suburbs since the drive is so long and traffic-y.  I think I will always be a city girl. I do love the open spaces the suburbs have to offer.  Wrigley had a blast running around in the yard.  He hardly gets a chance to roll around on grass.  These shots were taken in front of Papa DOS' house.  Always nice to visit where I grew up.  The house still looks the same and my room is still how I left it.  I also watched The Avengers!  OMG it's a must see!  I was so pleasantly surprised at how funny the movie was.  What did you guys do this weekend?

I also tried my hand at a top bun this day.  A sock bun is a tad too complicated for my hair skill set for the moment.  LOL.  It looks messy and there are pieces sticking out but overall I think it was a good first attempt.  I was surprised it only took 5 bobby pins to keep it up.  I am really bad at doing my hair so it's usually held up by a whole slew of claw clips.  Hopefully with some more practice, I can get better and it will look a bit neater.

Oh, and if you all are wondering about the neon coral PS1 I have here, it's a long and funny story.  The short version is that I helped my friend locate this color and size for her birthday present from her ever so sweet boyfriend.  It took me 3 days to find this elusive color and size.  And of course, she decides to go with the orchid color since it was more practical and will be appropriate for even fall and winter.  I myself, being more on the NOT practical side, loved the color and since it was so exclusive, I could not find the heart to return it.  So yes, I now have 2 PS1s.  The citron in large, and this lovely neon coral in medium.  I love the look of the medium.  This size overall looks better than the large.  However, I find it hard to fit everything in this size.  The large is the one I take to the office since I pretty much carry around my life with me during the week.  The medium is my perfect weekend bag and with summer coming up, will be a fun color to carry around.  =)  I was planning to get the medium at some point anyway so I guess it all works out in the end.  At least that's what I tell myself in my head.  LOL.
