NEW YORK STATE OF MIND

Somi and I at #NYFW.  She towered over me even though I had on 6 inches of pure platform.  Hahaha.  So glad I got to bring a guest.  Thank you Noon by Noor!

I'm finally getting this post up.  Sorry it took so long.  I feel like it was forever ago already.  Missing NY badly.  Thank you all for your patience.

Dress - Blessed are the Meek (also here and here)  |  Shoes - Nasty Gal (links to shoes at bottom of Shoulder Action post)  |  Bag - Christian Louboutin  |  Necklace - Vintage

I hope you enjoy the following photos!  I tried the best I could to get good shots.  But I am no expert runway photog so hopefully these are good enough.  LOL.

Gorgeous gold tones and thigh high slits.  Y'all know how I feel about slits right?  LOOOOOVE!

Look at the photog pit.  Look at that one girl right smack in the middle with a camera phone.  Hahaha.  Awesome!

WANT. THESE. SHORTS.

They had such awesome shoulder details on the blazers.  There was one with feathers that I wish I got a good shot of.  =(

My favorite piece.  It moved so amazingly on the runway.  Sorry I suck at taking these runway photos.  Man these women walk quick!

What a great show.  So glad to have been part of it.  =)

Olivia Palermo.  STFU!  Could you be any prettier?  Excuse the close-up-ness.  I only had a prime lens.  And poor Somi had no idea what to do.  LOL.

Nicky Hilton.  Photos don't do her justice.  She is stunning in person.

Later that night partying with Lauz from Deux Chicago.  I have pretty friends.

rewardStyle + asos top influencers partaaaaaaaaaaaay at the Dream Hotel.

Aimee Song and Dani Song oooooooze fabulousness.  So gorgeous and so sweet.

Jane Aldridge.  Amazeballs!  We had a fun chat about Texas and Chicago.  She is so friggin' nice and actually pretty shy herself.  I was pretty much rambling out of nervousness.  Not cute.

Ugh, my iPhone 4 is so old and the camera got crummy.  Hooray for iPhone 5!

And it wouldn't be a fitting end without some fun photobooth shots.  With the totes amaze Devon Ho and the ridiculously lovely Wendy Nguyen.  <3

AFTER MY NYC TRIP, AT WORK I FEEL LIKE:

I am taking a page from my favorite tumblr #soyeahduh on this one.  I had absolutely the most fun in NYC this past weekend.  I was there from Wednesday night to Sunday night and it was a nonstop bucket of fun.  From eating at all my favorite spots, to running around the city during Fashion's Night Out, to going to my very first fashion show, to seeing a celeb or two, to party rocking with my friends at Meat Packing, to meeting some of my all time favorite bloggers, to buying artwork at a Brooklyn flea market, I have to say, New York never disappoints me.  But I do have my battle scars.  My feet are crying, and I've got a few bruises and a ton of blisters.  But all totes worth it.  Needless to say, I am exhausted!  Add the fact that I was back in the office bright and early on Monday morning trying to play catch up to some state returns.  I definitely just want to crawl under my desk and nap.  But like any other insane multi-tasker, I must power through!  I have a few photos to show you guys.  Not a lot because teaching my friends how to maneuver a DSLR was a bit of a fail.  And it was so hot and muggy out in NY with rain mixed in at random points.  Very hard to stay lookin' cute and sassy.  Not that I didn't try.  Hehehe...  But mostly I cared more about spending time with my friends and having fun.  I definitely have some photos to show you guys.  Just be patient as I try to get my head on straight and back to my grind.  Hopefully you follow me on Instagram (drunkonshoes) and that is holding you over for now.  Don't worry, I'll compile those pictures into a post as well.  =)

xoxo

Yes, I know, all that is different is the coat.  Hahaha!  Well this was taken on the same day we were in Soho right after I did some damage at Aritzia.  So obsessed with that store!  Especially because there was a huge mega sale section.  This jacket however was not on sale.  But it was pretty reasonable so I had to snag it.  I couldn't help but switch into this jacket right after my purchase so I could snap some shots and show you guys!  And it fit so well with what I was already wearing.  I did look pretty crazy swapping jackets in the middle of the sidewalk and ripping off the tags.  If I remember correctly, this jacket was just a little over $100 and is perfect for spring.  It was actually 55 degrees in Chicago today so I have a feeling I will be using this jacket again very soon.  Yay!  I hope everyone is having a great week!  This have been kinda cray at work and I've only been back for two days!  EEKS!

NEON PINK AND SPIKES

So this was day 2 of me in NYC.  It was so surreal to be surrounded by so much fashion and fabulousness even just strolling outside of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Faux Building.  =)  Yes that silver building behind me was put there just for Fashion Week.  There were so many incredibly fashionable people walking around, a whole slew of photographers and reporters, and tons of bloggers.  It was a bit intimidating to be quite honest with you.  It is extremely difficult to stand out in that kind of a crowd.  LOL.  But I tried with my pop of neon pink.  =D  I also am wearing this awesome spiked cuff from Doloris Petunia.  It makes me think of Street Fighter character Chun-Li.  KaPoW!  We were lucky enough to get in thanks to my gutsy cousin-in-law.  Hi Lisa!  She strolled up to the two security guards and shmoozed her way through, taking me and Papa DOS with her.  No we did not get into the tents to watch any shows but getting into the building was good enough for me.  Inside were tons of stations from the sponsors of the show such as Pepsi and Circa and of course Mercedes-Benz.  We got some free goodies, one being a hard plastic straw designed by Jonathan Adler which I am totally using to sip some water as I am writing this post.  Everytime I take a sip I think to myself... "oh you fancy huh? oh you fancy huh?"  Bwahahahaha... I'm such a nerd.  Thanks to Papa DOS being with me, I got to take some fun pics right outside.  Even if you can't get into the shows, outside and inside the building, is one big fashion show.  People are out in their best outfits ready to strike a pose.  Definitely going to try to come back next year... and umm... every year after that.  ;)

Please excuse all the changes that the blog is going through.  I am trying to play around with web design so I am going to be testing it out here.  I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.  =)  As always, thanks for stopping by!  And please please please, if you like what I do, publicly follow the blog, follow me on Twitter and Pinterest, and like the page on FB.  Basically just click on anything you can click on.  Hehehe... <3
