BLOGGER ON THE GO

Bloggers are pretty married to three things... their phones, their cameras, and their computers.  But of course we need to jazz it up in any way we can.  And what better to jazz up my MacBook Air than with a bright neon orange C/Fan case!  My previous neon obsession last year was citron and I think this year it is neon orange or "electric lava" as C/Fan calls it.  I always find it interesting when I change my mind on what I like and what I don't like.  There used to be a time when I thought orange was so gross.  But I guess that's what is great about fashion and life, what you thought you would never like, can all of a sudden be your current obsession.  And man, neon orange is just so hawt to me right now.  Hahaha.  Especially in a laptop sleeve.  What I love about this C/Fan one is that it can also look like a simple over-sized envelope clutch so I can feel like an undercover techie nerd.  And since I have the 11 inch Air, I can slip in some other items in this as well.  Nothing too bulky or else it starts to bend and lose it's shape which is no bueno.  I don't normally blog outside of my house since I don't need to subject the public to seeing me weed through a million photos of myself.  But now that I have such a pretty case, the public might just have to deal with it.  So if you see me toting around my "electric lava" case, you'll know wassup!  Or maybe there's just a panini in there and a few fashion mags.  I like to keep ya guessing.

Fashion fix!  Not much to say except I love this dress!  It's got a vintage feel.  Circa 1930s but with a modern flare with shorter under lining.  This color screams autumn is here!  I am definitely welcoming the low 70s high 60s weather we have been having lately.  I hope it's not fleeting and sticks around for a little bit before dropping to freezing like it eventually will here in Chicago.  Flowy dress season is almost coming to an end around here ladies!  Take every opportunity you can to bust yours out and savor each day.  This dress pairs so perfectly with my Shoemint shoes.  Definitely not a pair I could walk a mile in but don't they look fab!?  I love the style and caged detail of this shoe and I'm thinking I should have gotten them in both the colors they came in.  Hehehe...

This particular day was sooooooooo beautiful and we took the opportunity to take some shots by the docks off of Fullerton.  It won't be long until all these boats will get stored away for winter.  It was a great day to soak up some sunshine and watch it set over the buildings that line the lakefront in Lincoln Park.  The best part was that the hubs took a little break from football that day to take some shots and enjoy the weather with me.  Isn't he the bestest?!  Football season is highly frustrating to me.  Mostly because I am really not that into football.  The action is too short and blunt and it seems like most of the time it's just commercials and big burly men huddling.  I just don't get it!  And hello, what is up with having football on Sunday, Monday and now Thursday!?  Are you trying to slowly kill me?!  So if anyone out there needs someone to play with on Sundays, shoot me a tweet!  I'm free!

Oh, I would also like to take the time to say hello to all my new Instagram followers!  I am a lot better at responding to comments on there so I appreciate you all for following and leaving me little notes.  =D  I am trying to be much better at responding to comments on here.  Just bear with me.  Work has been a tad busy since it's state tax returns season right now.  #taxgirlproblems  I'll be posting more of my NYC trip soon once I get all the photos in one spot.  Gah!  So much to do!

Happy Labor day weekend everyone!  I hope everyone has something planned for their extra day off.  Well for those of you that have that extra day off.  For those that don't.  I am soooooooooo sorry.  That totes sux.  This weekend is a little poopy because it has been intermittent rain.  Definitely ruined plans to lay out pool side and bbq.  Friday was great though.  I celebrated a birthday for a very special lady at Bluebird in Bucktown.  No boys allowed at this dinner so definitely nice to have some girly chit chat.  Happy birthday to my darling MP!  I hope you love your new ring.  =)

Birthday dinners allow me a chance to get dressed up and dolled up.  I thought this dress was perfect for the day.  I knew I wanted to do a shoot today for the blog but I also had to work all day.  I would have had to go straight from work, to a location for our shoot, to stroll through stores for a birthday present (yea I procrastinated and bought her present that same day.. she knows and still loves me anyway), then finally to dinner.  Basically I had to find something appropriate enough for the office, yet something cute for the blog, and dressy enough for dinner and also sassy enough if we decided to find an after party.  I think this dress hit all those points don't you?  I love the way it's sailor inspired and makes me think of boats and sails.  Hehehe... I also had a twitter comment a couple of days ago from someone that works in a corporate environment and she was wondering what kind of things I wear to work.  I hope she sees this post.  =)  Although at work if my skirt is a little above the knee I tend to wear flats.  My old job was a little more used to my sky high heels than my current one.  Sometimes you gotta slowly incorporate that in and not all at once.  Hahaha.  For those of you in corporate America, how do you guys incorporate style into a corporate setting?

BACK TO BLACK

Sometimes it can be difficult to find a black dress that still has some punch.  Well look no further because I've got the perfect one.  Thanks to my shopping extravaganza at Edith Hart last week, I've got this fun and fabulous dress in my closet.  I wore it out immediately the next day after I bought it.  The Hubster and I went to the Cheeky Chicago event "Cheekiest Guys of Summer 2012" out on Oak Street Beach. I was pretty overdressed and probably wore the wrong shoes for a beach event but I didn't care.  I got way too excited to rock this beauty.  I'm probably going to get it shortened to give it a little more sass.  =)  What do you guys think?  Love?

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I spent most of this weekend watching a korean drama.  They are my downfall.  If it wasn't for my friends calling me out at night, I probably would not have left the house.  I still made time to hit up the Vintage Garage on Sunday though, thanks to tickets I won from Cheeky Chicago.  They are so great!  Thanks to being Cheeky, I got some amazing jewelry pieces for dirt cheap.  Woohoo!  Here are some shots we took at the Cheeky event last week.  Enjoy!

Lisa Frame being a total babe!

Some fashionable ladies I was being creeps with my camera with.  =)  Loved their outfits!
