Yikes! Pretty long huh? Clearly it was time for me to go to the only guy I trust to get my claws back to fabulous. And that guy's name would be Danny. He owns a nail shop on Wells Street in Old Town called Elite Nails. I've been going to him for about 2 years now.
I've never religiously gone and gotten my nails done before I met him. I found out about him from a sales associate at Harry Winston. Her nails were so nice I couldn't focus on the diamonds. LOL. What was I doing at Harry Winston? Funny side story time. Joonbug and I wanted to have a little fun and look at diamonds. This was when he was shopping around for an engagement ring for his bride to be Gee Bee. So we went into Harry Winston and pretended we were ballers. Yep, we are just that cool.
But here is the man himself. My nail guru. Danny! Doesn't he look so happy to be doing my nails?
So what I normally get is called a silk overlay. It's a lot more natural than regular acrylic and it lets me grow out my natural nails without the fear of breakage. Danny does such an amazing job and really has a great attention to detail. Not to mention he always puts on Wheel of Fortune for me so I can shout out answers as he does my nails. See the TV behind his head? I got pretty good at Wheel of Fortune after 2 years of getting my nails done.

We always argue on the length. Me: "They look short" Danny: "You be quiet!" But he always knows what's best. So I just sit back, play Wheel of Fortune, and leave with my pretty nails. THANKS DANNY!! And here's the BEST news for all you Drunk On Shoes readers!

So go and get your nails did! Just make sure Danny is there. His days off are Mondays. And if you want the DOS style nails, just ask for the silk, and make sure you have Danny do it. He's the best! Obviously the length is up to you. But if you really want to be able to scratch a major itch, the longer the better. Hehehe...

you know i love them! but my nail girls felt betrayed when i cheated on them with danny. plus it's too far for nails. but i really miss having them. removing them was sad. i wish my nail shop still did silk.

wow i never knew your nails were that long! i love having long nails too but im always scared that they'll break under the nail line (ouch!). do the silk overlays break easily? - Quachie

quachie! silk is super strong. if u look at my before pictures and how long they were, that was three or four weeks and they are still intact! u have to go to danny tho. he's the absolute best! i've gone to other places that do silk, and there aren't that many, and they sucked! danny knows how to make them thin to look natural but still strong enough not to break. let me know if u go! =)
