BACKLESS AT FONTAINEBLEAU

Holy cow this is so late.  Here is my second set of photos from my trip to Miami in November.  So sorry for the lack of posts.  It's my busy month at work and I have had no time for anything else.  Sad to admit but I do enjoy the busy grind at work.  It's like this weird rush.  Deadlines and late nights.  Woot!  Lol.  What can I say, I guess I'm a little weird like that.  Because of my submersion into work, I have had zero time for photos and zero cuteness as well.  Not to mention things like #Chiberia and #polarvortex have been circulating around me.  Being outside and trying to fool you guys into thinking I'm having a grand ol' time walking the streets of Chicago whilst attempting to look all kinds fashionable and smiley is just not something I felt like doing lately.  In fact, I did the opposite.  I sat at home and looked at photos from the summer and thought to myself, why don't I live somewhere warm year round.

For example, these photos.  Looking at these photos makes me so sad.  Gawd I miss my tan.  I am currently about 10 shades lighter now due to this brutal cold Chicago weather that has kept me bottled up inside my house and away from any type of daylight.  What I would give to be back at Fontainebleau sippin' on a cocktail on that private beach being waited on by some cute little cabana boy whilst the hubs is snoring away next to me.  Sigh.  Who else is over this brutal cold?!

FIFI AT THE ZOO

Hi all, Happy Friday!!  I hope you have had a great week.  This past Tuesday was my last day at my job and I gave myself a week and a half break until I start my new one.  Might I say, I am LOVING this feeling.  No stress, no worries, just carefree and bliss.  Although I am still waking up early in the morning because I've been hard wired to do so from my 9-5, I love being able to run my errands without feeling rushed or having to worry about when to get things done.  Yesterday I went grocery shopping at Trader Joes and bought myself flowers.  Note to my guy readers, go get your girl some flowers.  It's only $3.99 at Trader Joes man!  Since I had no rush to do anything, I spent about an hour arranging my flowers in vases.  It was hard but also very calming.  And I thought to myself, is this what people who don't have to work do, and is this how they feel?  Man it's nice!  Hahahahaha...  I even put a ribbon around the vase.  Then I stood there admiring my work and posting it on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.  LOL.

I also went out and bought a paper shredder.  Identity theft is no joke guys!  I always rip up my mail.  I was doing it by hand for so long that I decided it was time to get a shredder.  So I drove myself to Best Buy and got a top of the line shredder.  It can even shred credit cards and CDs.  Even though I'm way to scared to stick a CD in it, knowing it can is still pretty cool.  Then I went back home and proceeded to shred anything I could find.  Relishing in the grinding sounds of the machine.  MUAHAHAHA!

I've also been enjoying going out pretty much every night since last week.  LOL.  In my head, my vaycay started last Friday.  I got to see some friends I haven't seen in some time and catch up on their lives.  I had a super fun sangria day with my HJ and Gracey at my place and had a great Thursday night at Underground.  My hair has also received a lot of TLC these past few days.  I got my highlights refreshed at Charles Ifergan Salons by my colorist Sam, which was highly overdue since my roots were halfway down my head.  She always does a consistently great job and I never really have to explain anything.  I also got a Kérastase conditioning treatment and a trim at J. Gordon Designs in Lincoln Park.  Thanks to an awesome Groupon, I got a great deal and now my hair is smooth and shiny.  I keep doing that hair swish thing us girls do after a great cut and blow dry.  I'm also the type of person that doesn't mind trying new places for hair.  I don't really freak out if it doesn't turn out exactly right.  However, Sylvia DID get it exactly right.  I didn't want too much taken off and she definitely knew how to just trim the ends and preserve my length.  I highly recommend her if you are in the area.  =)

So this day in the photos, was actually last weekend.  My fam and I went to Lincoln Park Zoo.  It's a little sad that I have lived so close to it for two years and this was my first time ever going.  What's even sadder is that it's a free zoo and I never took advantage of that.  It was definitely cool to see the animals up close like that but a part of me gets really depressed for them.  I'm sure they are there for a good reason but behind cages and enclosures just makes me feel uneasy.  The zoo is, however, maintained beautifully year round and there are people there that educate you about the animals.  One in particular who was in the monkey building taught me something.  Do you know the difference between monkeys and apes?  If you do, then hoorah for you.  I, on the other hand, did not know.  So here you go.  DOS Fun Fact:  Monkeys have tails and apes do not.  Definitely makes you go "Ooooh... I seeeeeee!"  The zoo is fun and pretty and a great way to spend a nice day.  Props to Papa DOS on the photos.  <3  As you can see, my LV Fifi and I had a great time.  I kept it pretty casual with a loose sleeveless tee and jeans.  I was feeling kinda bummy that day.  Kept it fab with a tweed blazer from Zara though.  I love anything studded.  =)  Hope you enjoy the post!
