SHADES OF PINK AT IMAGERY ESTATE WINERY

Nothing is more depressing than weeding through Sonoma photos when you are freezing your ass off in this cold Chicago weather.  I can barely remember what this day felt like... probably because The Hubster and I got so wasteypants this day and passed out on the grass under the sun.  This was the day we went to Imagery Estate Winery, which is a spin off from the Benziger Family Winery.  One of the brothers of the second generation decided to start his own winery to venture off of the classic wines that Benziger produces.  Imagery experiments with different flavors and wines which are equally as yummy.  The best part about going to Benziger for a wine tour is that they give you a free voucher for a tasting at Imagery.  And the tasting at Imagery was amazing!  The girl helping us just kept pouring wine after wine after wine.  BEST EVER!  After procuring a hefty buzz, we each purchased a glass of our faves, grabbed some salami, cheese, and crackers, and proceeded to the outdoor seating area on the lawn of the estate.  What happens next is a pretty classic DOS and Hubster moment and one that I crack up about in my head sometimes.

Gawd I feel like this was all I ate every day!

This is the exact spot where we fell asleep.  I remember sitting and being silly drunk with the hubs and wanting to take a picture of him lying down next to the metal balls.  Yes, I am THAT immature.  When I crawled up to him to show him the picture, I realized that he was already snoozing.  Then I tried to take selfies of us as he was sleeping because I just found that soooooo amusing.  The whole time I was trying to take selfies, I was actually in video mode.  Resulting in some super awkward video clips of me just staring into the camera in various selfie face poses.  Once I realized what I did, I proceeded to crack up at myself TO myself for about 10 minutes.  Then, I too, passed out on the grass.  Luckily we woke up right before the sun went down and before the winery closed.  I gotta say, it was a pretty awesome day.

A BLUSTERY DAY

Happy Monday to all!  I hope everyone had a fab weekend.  I spent this weekend spending time with The Hubster, the pupper, and my fam.  I also got my hair touched up since my roots were getting a little long.  Not too much excitement.  Felt good to take a break from the night life.  Even though I had multiple living room dance parties throughout the weekend.  Guestlist of 2:  Wrigley and myself.

These shots were taken on Sunday when we had the most amazing November weather.  It felt like it was about 70 degrees when you were under the sun.  I didn't think I'd be wearing shorts in November, that's fo sho.  But of course Chicago can't make it 100% perfect.  Along with the unseasonably warm temperatures, it was crazy windy.  But having experience Chicago winds, it really wasn't THAT bad.  We took the puppers out for a stroll around our hood.  We stopped to get some coffee at Intelligentsia and checked out some hats at Goorin Bros. Hat Shop on Broadway.  Wrigley had so much fun on his walk and met some other doggies along the way.  Wrigley has the worst doggie manners and gets his nose all up around other doggies' butts and junk.  So embarrassing but hilare at the same time.  We are bad parents and don't take him out for long walks as much as we should so we can only really blame ourselves.

I was reppin' the Bulls this day.  Basketball is about the only sport I can tolerate watching.  And of course I am a Bulls fan and also part of the D-Rose bandwagon.  Woot!  Although I have no idea what's going on in basketball right now since The Hubs is busy with his football.  =P

BTW, thanks to everyone who commented and checked out the first post of my Le Dinner series.  More to come soon!  And feel free to leave me recipes to try!  Maybe it will end up on the series.  Please note that I do not bake.  My utter disregard in measuring things out makes me a horrid baker so I don't even try.  I eyeball everything and get mad when it doesn't come out perfect.  I think the only thing I can successfully do is banana nut bread.  So maybe you will see that one on the blog.
