CAMO AND SWEATS IN SAN FRAN

Aaaaaaaaand she's back!  If you didn't know, I just came back from an amazing 9 day vacation in NorCal.  We spent 6 days in Sonoma and 3 days in San Francisco.  In Sonoma, we witnessed the beautiful wedding of HJ and Jimmers!  But more on that in a later post.  I will be posting quite a bit from this trip to take you guys through most of my days in Cali so excuse the lag as there are tons of pictures.  We arrived in SF the night of the 10th and luckily my amazing friend Sungdizzlehungryyyyyyyyyy was also in SF for work and let us crash at his hotel.  Meaning we got to meet some friends in SF for a few drinks and of course ended up at some korean bar/restaurant stuffing our faces right before we passed out.  Although I did start the party early on the flight in.  I mean $5 vodka sodas on the Southwest flights = wooo hoooooo!  I definitely did not waste any time starting my vacation.  I got myself pretty happy and toasty on that four and a half hour flight.  Thanks again to Sung for letting us crash!  Poor guy didn't even get to go to brunch with us the next day.  And my oh my did he miss a fantastic brunch.  Utilizing that yelp thang, I found us a place to have brunch.  Dotties.  It had like 2800 reviews and averaged to about 4.5 stars.  So of course that got me curious.  We got there and there was a line to get in.  Sucks to have to wait but it is usually a good sign of nyummies to come.  And we were soooooo NOT disappointed.

Unfortunately the camera battery died right before the food came out so I guess you'll have to take my word for it that it looked glorious and tasted even better than it looked.  They have this chili/jalepeno cornbread with some sort of glaze you can spread on top that will change your life!  I'm not that easily impressed with food but I couldn't stop stealing bites off of the hubby's plate.  I'm definitely going back and ordering a whole plate of just the corn bread.  Their scrambles are amazing and have really interesting flavors.  I tried lamb sausage with goat cheese which was delish but weird at the same time.  Miss Sue had the Italian sausage scramble which was also very good.  And the hubby, well, the hubby's dish was amazing.  Smoked whiskey-fennel sausage, mushroom and baby spinach scramble with that grilled chili-cheddar corn bread and home fries.  ZOMG!  Nomanomnomnommy!  Overall a very successful stop in SF and a great start to our vacation.  Then it was off to Sonoma!  Which was a beautiful drive across the Golden Gate bridge and smooth sailing on the 101.  Woohoo!  More of #dostakesonsonoma to come!

YOGURTLAND AND FALL STAPLES

So I recently found out about the TARO flavored froyo at Yogurtland and it kind of rocked my world.  I absolutely loooooooooooove taro flavored desserts!  When I go to Joy Yees in Chinatown and get bubble tea, I always opt for the Taro freeze with mini tapioca pearls.  ZOMG YOMMMM!  But going to Chinatown takes a lot more effort.  So when I discovered this taro froyo... I was hooked.  And the fact that it's in my hood... ruh oh!  AND they have these taro wafer sticks as a topping option!??!  STFU!!!  Life is good y'all.

These next two weeks are pretty eventful for me.  I'm coordinating another wedding but this time for one of our dearest friends.  Let's call this #graceyhak2013.  I'm very excited to be part of their big day.  And might I add, they are like.. so pretty.  No, not just SHE is so pretty.  HE is just as pretty.  Puahaha.  Don't believe me?  Well they were my models for the Gatsby shoot I put together.  See it HERE.  I am so so so excited to see her in her actual wedding dress!  Which by the way, she designed herself.  So bonkers!  I have such talented friends.  Of course I'll be instagramming the crap out of the day so keep an eye out this Sunday!  #graceyhak2013 gonna be in full force.

A few days after their wedding, I am off to Sonoma, California for yet another wedding!  Let's call this #hyunjimmers2013.  Super looking forward to this one because it is also a much needed vacation.  The Hubster and I will be staying in the area for a week then maybe check out San Fran for a couple days.  I mean c'mon, there's going to be wine EVERYWHERE.  It's going to be a great time!  I heard Sonoma will be a tad chilly this time of year so I am preparing my fall wardrobe.

Here are some of my staples!  Oversized sweaters, faux leather (or if you can afford it, real leather) leggings/pants, leg warmers, statement but classic shape booties, scarf, and sunnies!  What are some of your fall staples?  Also let me know where I should definitely hit up in Sonoma, Napa, and San Fran!  Thanks you sexy nuggets!  Follow me on Instagram @drunkonshoes cuz it's gunna be a like my mini photo diary during these next two weeks!

UPDATE:  I'm actually selling these booties, size 35 but fits like a 35.5 in my opinion.  Selling because as much as I love them, they are too big for me therefore I wibble wobble on them.  Email me at dos@drunkonshoes.com for inquiries!

LE DINNER: EPISODE 4: OOLONG MARINATED SEA BASS

So it's kind of been a while since I posted a recipe for you guys.  So I'm making it count by posting one I just tried a few weeks ago.  This is one of my absolute favorite dishes to have at PF Changs.  Oolong marinated sea bass.  Chilean sea bass is a fantastic fish and one I love to order at restaurants so when I gave this recipe a whirl, I was elated that it came out pretty spot on.  The great thing about cooking is that you can tweak things a little to fit your exact taste.  I love love love the PF Chang's version but sometimes I wished it wasn't as sweet so being able to make it at home, I was able to match the flavors to exactly what I want.  Because yes, sometimes I like it sweeter, sometimes I don't.  So here we go..... ENJOY!

OOLONG MARINATED SEA BASS

Ingredients:
Sea Bass about 3/4 of a pound per piece.
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1 tsp Ginger
1 tsp Garlic
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1 1/4 cup Water
1 Oolong Tea Bag (I've also used Black Tea)

Step 1:  Mince garlic and ginger.  I love garlic and ginger so I went a little heavy on this.  You can ease up on the amount if you don't want it to be that strong.

Step 2:  Bring to a boil 1 cup of water

Step 3:  Add 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, and minced garlic and ginger.  Stir until brown sugar is melted.

Step 4:  Turn heat to low and add in oolong tea bag.  Let sit on low for 5 minutes.

Step 5:  Turn off stove and let mixture cool to room temperature.  Taste your marinade and make adjustments according to what you like.  Add pepper if you want to.  No need for salt since there is already soy sauce.  You want it a little more concentrated in flavor to really get into the fish.

Step 6:  Pour cooled marinade into a Ziplock bag with your fish and close making sure the fish is thoroughly covered and you take out as much air from the bag as possible.

Step 7:  Let fish marinade for a day.

Step 8:  Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes.

Step 9:  Plate and serve!  I like to serve on top of wilted spinach and toasted diced tofu.  You can use the left over juice to pour on top after you have plated.  =)

I hope you guys enjoy the recipe!  Leave me comments and let me know how it goes for you!  If you have a local fish market, try going there for your fish.  I saved about $15/lb by going to a local fish market.  They close early so it takes a little more planning and work but totes worth it!
