GOLDILOCKS AND BLUSH

Hay gurl haaayyyyyyyyy.... look who went blonde.  Hahaha.  I've definitely been craving a drastic change lately and it's taken quite a bit of attempts to get me to this color but oh em geeeeee... I love it!  I wanna thank Miss Beth over at Epoch Studio Salon for my new goldilocks!  It feels so good when you find someone you can trust with your hurrrr and keeps it real throughout the process.  What do you guys think?  Is this look a keeper?

Lately I've been going through these moods of wanting change or just taking a stab at that million dollar question of "What do I want out of my life?"  Maybe it's because I am turning 30 this Saturday.  Do you like how I just kind of snuck that in there?  LMAO.  Yes, this gal is turning the big 3-0.  And no, I'm not going to sit here and whine about how I'm getting old or how my life is now going to come to a halt or all those other crazy things women say when they turn 30.  I am actually very excited to venture into my 30s.  I am the happiest I've ever been and I plan to continue to stay that way.  But it does make you think about things.  My career, my aspirations, my passions.... hmmmmm.  What do I see myself doing in the future, and am I on that track?  What am I really passionate about and what small mark do I really want to leave in this world?  GAH!  Who the hell knows!?!?  Things I do know.  I have a good life.  I can pay my bills and enjoy things a majority of the world can't.  I have a husband who I fall more and more in love with lately after going through a lot of roller coaster years together.  I have my pup who brings such a light in my life just by sitting there staring at me.  I have my dad and my sister who is just the right amount of family for me and I have a close knit of friends who understand who I am and love me for it.  And most importantly, I have a guardian angel that watches over me each and every single moment of my life.  Really what else is there?  I most definitely have ZERO complaints.  So what is this nagging feeling of "So what's next?"  Quite honestly, I just don't know.  Is this where I should tell you things I learned in my 30 years?  Puahahaha.  Maybe I'll share all that after this weekend because I do feel like I learned a lot in the past 10 years but I also know I have way more that I don't know about.  So what was this rant all about?  That, I don't know either.  But this is my blog and I can rant if I want to and make zero sense if I want to!  Luckily there are pictures so you can just focus on that today.   Do you guys every get those days where you just think "What the heck am I doing?"  How do you deal with those days?  Should I just get over myself and go shopping?  Maybe I'm just hungry.  Mk byeeeeeeeee.

FESTIVAL DAYS KICK OFF

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!  I spent mine being the laziest sack o' crud.  Mainly because the weather was gloomy most of the weekend.  Thank goodness for Sunday.  The sun was out which forced me out of the house and off my couch.  The Hubster and I spent the day out in Lakeview and Wrigleyville which was super fun.  We made it out to the Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival which I must say was a bit of a disappointment.  I thought it would be much bigger and being a "music festival", assumed it would have more music.  Don't get me wrong, the performances were great but I had thought there would be multiple stages.  It was still fun anyway.  We went to every booth there and looked around and played whatever games there were and grabbed whatever swag was available.  I think I have a pretty legit plastic sunglasses collection going now.  I added an orange Chevrolet one from this day.  It felt good to be out and about with the hubs and day boozin' which we continued over in Wrigleyville area.  I love this type of weather... warm enough to show the legs but cool enough to wear a sweater.  These type of days are so rare here.  =(  So glad we at least had one day.  What did you guys do this past weekend?

Wednesday Wishlist 1/11/12

Wednesday Wishlist by MP

Hi everyone!  So last week if you read that Wednesday Wishlist, I challenged my good friend Mindoo to put together my Wednesday Wishlist for me but not realizing that it is no easy task, she couldn't meet the deadline.  Hahahaha... But she is not one to quit.  So here she is, with her own look put together.  I wanted her to put together a look because I adore her style.  It's different from mine in some degree (like hello... those shoes have no heels?  LOL!) but I love everything she picked out.  It is very much her.  I'm going to start having other fun fashionistas put together the Wednesday Wishlist here and there just to get a different perspective and style.  Plus I think it would be fun to have other people contribute to my little bloggie blog, right!?

5.  Isabel Marant Jenny brushed-suede ankle boots - $580

Hi DOS!

Thanks for the Wednesday Wishilist spotlight!

Since this is called Drunk On Shoes, I’ll start with the boots, although I usually pair the shoes to my look last (sorry DOS!). These perfectly broken in Isabel Marant boots will go with everything, and I love how effortlessly cool they make any outfit. Yes, I know they look a little worn, but like wine, better with age!  The sweater dress is an essential for winter and can be paired with a belt, jacket, tights, boots, you name it. I will think of all the excuses to purchase a pricier item to make myself and wallet feel better.  Accessorize to your liking! I paired the look with a brighter satchel by Proenza Schouler which adds a kick of color and a couple trinkets on the wrist to play with for when I get bored.  Oh! and, don’t forget the sunnies for the bright winter sun!

Cheers to DOS and WW,
xx! MP

DOS interviews MP

Give yourself an "internet" name
MP (How original) or Mean D (Which was my fantasy football name), but still in the process of thinking one up!
Describe your style
My style is very moody... like the Spice Girls. I guess I'm all of them in one.
What are your favorite pair of shoes?
Since I'm in heels all day, my leopard flats or chucks.
What are your must have items for this season?
Cozy sweaters, Layers, Blouses and Lipstick.
What is something you always carry around in your purse that is non-typical?
Nothing non-typical because I try to not carry so much junk, but I guess a daily agenda. Most people have migrated to using their phones, but I like seeing things written out, plus I have a terrible memory.
If you could buy one thing fashion related with no budget, what would it be?
A Birkin to live in.
Do you love DOS and why? (haha)
Of course I love DOS! Because she has more personality than anyone I know!

Thanks Mindoo aka MP for the great look you put together.  Hopefully the boyfriend looks at this and gets some ideas for Valentine's Day.  Muahahaha!  Please leave Mean D some comments and eprops!!!  And stay tuned for more featured fashionistas!  <3
