Hey there boys and gals! I hope you are enjoying this fabulous Wednesday we are having. Especially here in Chi-city. The weather outside is TOTES AMAZE or to quote Mrs. Rancic, "AMAZEFEST 2012". I can't wait to step out of my office building and frolic in the suuuuuuuuuun! And by frolic, I mean head over to
Dragon Ranch for a dinner event featuring a new social media app called
EVZDROP. Special thanks to
Chicago Blogger Network for the dinner invite!
When I first read up on the app, I thought "OMG! Now I can tell the world to avoid driving down Halsted Street from the hours of 8am to 9am!" It's an interesting new app that will allow you to find out what's going on where, from people who are there. Some of the "drops" I see myself saying are "The line is insane-balls at
Untitled right now!" Or "Rancics and Bambino sighting outside of Sprinkles!" And c'mon, isn't that some SUUUUUPER critical information? Uh YEA!
The app is only available for iPhone users right now. (The Hubster is somewhere rolling his eyes. He's such a Droid fanatic) There are still some things I'm not quite sure about in terms of using the app so I can't wait to ask some questions and learn what it's all about. The best part is also getting to finally have dinner at
Dragon Ranch! Word! Dragon Ranch is the newest baby from the Rockit Ranch Productions team and is situated in River North among its siblings (
Rockit Bar and Grill and
Sunda). They describe Dragon Ranch to be "a unique perspective on the classic BBQ experience" providing "American BBQ complemented by Asian influences, plus an extensive cocktail list with a specialty moonshine collection." All I read from that is BBQ and Moonshine. SOLD! Can't wait to try it all tonight! I hope I can remember all I learn and maintain composure. I'm not the most ladylike person when I'm a lil' tipssss.
But I do suppose I need to start preparing now for the weekend. Not only are we celebrating Halloween this weekend, it is also my darling Sue's birthday! Wahoo! It's kind of a special birthday for her so we want to do it up big starting Friday at
Sable Kitchen (they have a chicken and waffles dish that I've been wanting to wrap my lips around for quite some time) all the way up to the wee morning hours of Sunday. Saturday is when we plan to dress up in our costumes and this year is going to be hilare. The Hubster and I are somewhat matching this year and I am still frantically trying to finish my costume. I've busted out the sewing machine for this one guys. It's been fun and stressful at the same time. Which is pretty much how I label my life. Hahaha. If you want to see first hand what my costume is, then you only have to show up to one place.
THE UNDERGROUND

Halloween is kind of weird this year because it falls dead center in the week. Some places are throwing their parties the weekend before, some on the actual day, and some on the weekend after. Thank goodness UG is throwing theirs this Saturday because it is one of my favorite places to drop it like it's hot. I've said it before and I'll say it again, best music ever! The DJs that spin there really know how to please everyone with their mixes. I've even caught The Hubster do his head bob a few times, which like.... never happens at a club. He's prob not too happy that I just outed him. Doors open at 10pm so come early and enjoy some of these passed nom noms!
“Ghoulish” Guacamole
with tortilla chips
Chipotle Braised Chicken Tacos
with pico de gallo, cilantro, sour cream
Cinnamon Churros
with chocolate sauce
I know what you are thinking, "HOLY SHAT! CHURROS?!?!" I need to install some pockets in my costume because I am totes going to hoard some churros. If you see a little Asian girl double fisting churros all night, you found me. They are also making a special punch which always reminds me of my "jungle juice" days at U of I. You don't quite understand what's in it, and you don't quite know what it will do to you, but it's there so you drink it. I do gotta say, UG's version, called the "Witch's Cauldron", sounds a lot tastier than Everclear and Koolaid.
1 Bottle Goose Cherry Noir
1 Gallon Grape Juice
Cardamom Pods
Cinnamon Sticks
Nutmeg
Dry Ice
I don't know about you but I'm oober curious as to what a cardamom pod would taste like. Other special drinks for the night are:
Green Goblin
2 oz Absolute Acai
1 oz Midori
2 oz Pineapple juice
Beau Joie Cocktail
1 oz Absolute Raspberry
2 muddled raspberries
0.5 oz Grenadine
Two of each please, with a side of churros! OH! And can a girl also get one of theeeeeeeeeeeeese?
That's champagne in a coffin y'all! Aww JEA!
So after all these celebrations, I'm pretty sure I'm gunna look like a hot mess come Sunday afternoon. My eyes are going to look so bloodshot and puffy. It's just not going to be a pretty sight. NO blog photos for me that day fo sho! I'll definitely need to cover up most of my face so I'm planning ahead and hitting up one of my faaaaaaaaaaaaave stores.
OLIVER PEOPLES!
This sale is kind of a secret sale where as OP doesn't really advertise it that much. Which is probably why you should get up on their client list with the QUICKS! This sale is so good and soooooo worth it. I got a pair of $400 sunnies for $100. OP Sunnies! If you don't know how much I love them, then you clearly do not read this blog. And THAT.... makes me sad.
Oh and if you were drooling over my Religion coat on my last post and you read all the way through this one, I shall reward thee! Here is a link where I finally found where you can purchase that amazeballs coat and at 50% off. WHUUUUT!?!?! Yes, 50% off! Get it
HERE!
Thanks for reading!
